This year our Battle of Britain Regatta is carrying the RAF 100 theme, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force, we have an ambition to host a fleet of 100 boats! Swoop on down to the Royal Air Force Yacht Club on Easter Sunday. It’s the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force so please come and celebrate this occasion with us at our “Ton Up”! Party open day. With Easter on the horizon it’s time to get signed up to our RAF 100 Celebrations. Easter Saturday begins with a daytime rally and timed passage race to Marchwood YC for lunch, making use of their walk ashore facilities and warm hospitality, all aided by a very accommodating spring tide. The Rally sign up sheet will be on the club noticeboard this weekend, so please get signed up for the first rally of the year. With the wind from the north and going variable during the day, particularly Saturday, a challenge was set for Kathy Smalley our Race Officer and the crews on the water to make the most of the conditions. Nevertheless everybody had an excellent time with good racing in the testing winds, or lack of, with many reporting back and thanking Kathy for a great weekend. For the Regatta Results go here

Visit to RNLI HQ Poole 12th November We have arranged a tour of the RNLI College where lifeboat crews and lifeguards are trained, this is a behind the scenes 90-minute tour, followed by a 60 minute tour of the new All-Weather Lifeboat centre where the new Shannon class lifeboats are built. Tour starts at 11:00 until ~1330 followed by lunch in the Riggers Bar at the college. While the tour is free a reasonable donation would be appreciated. Battle of Britain Regatta - Results The weekend presented some testing conditions with strong gusty southerly breeze Saturday. and a strong westerly breeze Sunday, leading to some gear failure and retirements.
