Success For The Club!
‘What a good un!’ – I am happy to advise members of the success achieved from the RAFYC stand at the boat show this year.
We secured 26 Membership applications, which have already provided the club with 22 confirmed applications, most with Flag Officer Interviews completed. There’s also another application on the way from a local couple who are very keen to join.
When you consider that the number of visitors to the boat show appeared fewer this year, the show a bit smaller and with less recorded visitors to our stand, the number of new member applications received was very heartening. Isn’t it great to buck the trend? Our stand volunteers were amazing.
The stand itself received praise too, as did our volunteers on it. This was published in the Yachting News during Boat Show Week and it’s author, William Mills has since joined the club. You can read his article by clicking on the following link.
The prize draw produced a year’s free membership for one stand visitor, John Pengella and free use of a maintenance bay for a day for the runner up, Russell Burton. Both lucky winners have been advised and we hope to see them in the club soon.
Once again our volunteers have done the club proud, as they did at our Boat Show Stand Visitors Open Day held at the club last Sunday. Well done all of you. Great job!
