Battle of Britain Regatta - 2024

Friday 13th – Sunday 15th September

Welcome to this year’s Open Invitation Regatta with racing on 14th and 15th September, which after a successful return to our established format last year, 2023, entries are open for IRC, Club Class,  XOD’s and Folkboat Classes incorporating Round 3 of the Folkboat Association (FBA) Folkboat Summer Series, with three races scheduled for Saturday and two on Sunday.

This year the tides have aligned perfectly with 15th September,  which is seen as the turning point in the air war with the Luftwaffe, it is to commemorate the role the RAF played in that campaign, to recognise the losses for all and the hope it brought for the future.

The event opens with a beer festival starting lunchtime on Friday 13th, with a variation on our normal Friday catering! Saturday will be a food station buffet with live music, Sunday will be a Roast Lunch till approx. 1500, followed by BBQ for all, timed for when the crews return from their second day on the water, leading up to the final Prize giving.

A number of other shoreside activities are in planning e.g. ‘various lawn games’  that will be available throughout the weekend – details will be published soon.
