Battle of Britain Regatta - 2023 - Shoreside Activities

RAFYC Battle of Britain Regatta 2023 Shore-Based activities programme  Fri 8th, Sat 9th and sun 10th Sept 2023

This Regatta is for all our members whether you race or just want enjoy the ambience of the Club and it’s locale, with plenty happening ashore for all ages, and taking advantage of the lawn!

Activities ashore start lunchtime Friday, running all weekend, through to Sunday evening, with opportunity to play lawn croquet, boules, giant Jenga etc.

Members and guests are invited to dress in 40’s style outfits.

Booking is required for food events, online or via the office.

Times and events are subject to change.

Friday 8th Bar opening times: 1200 – 2300 Last orders at 2250
1200 – to close Beer festival Local and more well-known ales and ciders to sample
1200-1600 Lunchtime Bar Menu A selection of Bar/Pub style food from Simon Cocks Catering.
1800 -2000 40’s style Female vocalist Betsy Schrader Betsy performs a variety of songs from the 40’s and later
1800 – 2130 40’s styled themed supper 2 courses Spam fritters with bubble n squeak or sausage n mash from Simon Cocks Catering

 

Saturday 9th Bar opening times: 1200 – 2300 Last orders at 2250
0800 – 0830 Skippers Briefing At RAFYC Club House – collect Breakfast Rolls while there
0800 – 0930 Breakfast rolls Bacon or Sausage filled rolls with tea and coffee (veg option available)
0830 -1000 Boats afloat Help support the boats and crew set off for the racing
1200 – 1400 Lunchtime menu A selection of Bar/Pub style food from Simon Cocks Catering.
1700 Boats ashore Help support the boats and crew return from the racing
1800 Prize giving
1900 – 2100 Buffett Service 2 courses Enjoy a hot crew style meal with a pudding or cheese and biscuits from Simon cocks Catering
2030 – 2300 Live music Enjoy the sounds of the popular ‘NuthinYet Band’

 

Sunday 10th Bar opening times: 1200 – 2100 Last orders at 2050
0800 – 0830 Skippers Briefing At RAFYC Club House – collect Breakfast Rolls while there
0800 – 0930 Breakfast rolls Bacon or Sausage filled rolls with tea and coffee (veg option available)
0830 -1000 Boats afloat Help support the boats and crew set off for the racing
1200 – 1400 Lunch A selection of Bar/Pub style food from our in-house catering.
1500- 1800 BBQ Beef burger, chicken drumstick, sausage, Roll, salad and condiments with vegetarian options
1600 Boats ashore Help support the boats and crew return from the racing
1630 Prize giving

 

The Regatta event is open to all Club Members, Members Guests, RHCC, HRSC, RAFYC Affiliated Clubs and Visiting Sailors.
