General Data Protection Regulation – Seeking Input from Members

The Club is preparing for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 25th May 2018.  Like all other organisation that hold personal data, we have to review our policies and the data that we have on file.  We are seeking help from members who have experience or expertise in this area.  This will involve joining a small working group on a task and finish basis.  Much of this work will be done by electronic communication. If you think that you can help with this, please email me (HonSec@rafyc.co.uk) prior to Friday 19th January. Many thanks, William.   [...]

Success For The Club!

Success For The Club! 'What a good un!' - I am happy to advise members of the success achieved from the RAFYC stand at the boat show this year. There’s also another application on the way from a local couple who are very keen to join. When you consider that the number of visitors to the boat show appeared fewer this year, the show a bit smaller and with less recorded visitors to our stand, the number of new [...]

BoB Regatta Results 2017

With the wind from the north and going variable during the day, particularly Saturday, a challenge was set for Kathy Smalley our Race Officer and the crews on the water to make the most of the conditions. Nevertheless everybody had an excellent time with good racing in the testing winds, or lack of, with many reporting back and thanking Kathy for a great weekend. For the Regatta Results go here

Royal Yacht Squadron Rally Report

Royal Yacht Squadron Rally Report On Saturday 22nd July, 14 Boats and 29 members and guests, got thoroughly drenched on their way to Shepards Wharf Marina, and still arrived in good spirits! After a relaxing afternoon, everyone took a chance on there being a break in the weather for our pontoon party, and the sun shone. Phew! Our supper at the Royal Yacht Squadron was memorable with good service, lovely food, great company and fabulous views. Looking forward to the next, very different, rally to Newtown Creek! Gail Foster - Rally Officer
