The opening hours for the bar vary based on season; they are normally published on the web site and on the Club notice board. For a small number of specific events such as the AGM and New Members’ evenings, the bar is shut to non-members. Members not attending the function will be welcome to use the Members’ lounge obtaining drinks from the Members’ bar. Members can gain the member discount on drinks on production of their membership card. Members must make sure that all guests sign in the visitors’ book.
Note children under the age of 14 are not allowed in the bar area after 2100 hours and are not allowed to be at the bar at any time.
Dogs are allowed in the bar and the Lounge but not the restaurant. They should be kept on a lead at all times within the clubhouse.

In recent months, we have enjoyed a number of Friday night informal lectures, organised by our Hospitality Committee. These generally have a ‘boating’ or Royal Air Force Theme, and have included hearing from:
- The GBR Olympic meterologist
- A national journalist, regarding his sailing voyage to and from South America.
- The owner of Bembridge Marina, one of the few privately owned Marinas in the UK.
- An evening with Captain Eric ‘Winkle’ Brown CBE, DSC, AFC, Hon FRAeS, RN – a British former Royal Navy officer and test pilot who flew 487 different types of aircraft.
The Club has a busy calendar of events organized by club committee and individual volunteers. Many are published at the start of the year, others are ad hoc, so keep an eye on the events calendar and on the notice-board.
Dress-Code will be advertised as one of the following:
During some events, the bar area is only available to people attending that event, however other members may enjoy drinks in the members lounge.
